A premier data centre operator, required a high-performance waterproofing refurbishment for a critical generator roof at one of their facilities. Watertite Waterproofing was engaged to execute the project, leveraging a high- performance liquid-applied membrane system to ensure long-term asset protection and operational continuity.
The project scope involved applying the new system directly over the existing membrane, which provided a more efficient and less disruptive approach than a full removal and replacement. The specified system consisted of:
Surface Preparation: The previous substrate was thoroughly pressure washed and cleaned. This critical first step ensured the surface was completely free from any contamination, creating a clean and stable foundation for the new membrane system to adhere to properly.
Priming: Application of Vulkem 191 Primer, a one-part, film-forming primer designed to enhance the bond between the substrate and the subsequent waterproofing layers.
Base Coat: Installation of the AlphaGuard BIO Base Coat, a low-odor, single-component, moisture-triggered aliphatic polyurethane. This layer forms the primary waterproofing membrane, offering excellent strength and flexibility.
Top Coat: Application of the AlphaGuard BIO Top Coat, tinted to the client’s specification of N45 Koala Grey. This final layer provides superior UV stability, colour stability, and an added layer of protection against environmental elements.
The combination of advanced materials and expert installation by Watertite Waterproofing resulted in a successful outcome that met all the required objectives for performance, durability, and operational continuity.
