Overview
A leading data centre operator, required a robust and longlasting waterproofing solution for one of its critical facilities. The existing membrane was showing signs of wear and needed a significant upgrade to ensure the complete protection of the sensitive digital infrastructure housed within.
To meet the project’s demanding requirements, Watertite Waterproofing specified a multi-layered system from Tremco. The solution was designed for application directly over the current membrane.
Solution
The selected system comprised three key components:
- TREMproof 200EC: A two-component, epoxy-based primer chosen to create a moisture-tolerant barrier and ensure a tenacious bond between the existing membrane and the new base coat. Its formulation is designed for excellent adhesion in demanding conditions.
- AlphaGuard BIO Base Coat: Applied after the primer, this bio-based polyurethane base coat provided an additional layer of durability and enhanced the system’s overall performance. Its advanced formulation ensured compatibility with both the primer and the top coat, contributing to a seamless and resilient waterproofing solution.
- AlphaGuard BIO Top Coat: A high-performance, two-component, bio-based polyurethane top coat. This system is known for its rapid curing, excellent elastomeric properties, superior UV stability and chemical exposure.
For this project, the AlphaGuard BIO was tinted to N45 Koala Grey to meet aesthetic requirements. A seamless, monolithic finish was established with no pinholes, voids, or inconsistencies in the membrane’s thickness that could become points of failure over time. This data centre project showcases Watertite Waterproofing’s ability to deliver innovative and effective solutions for complex waterproofing challenges.
