Overview

Data centres house sensitive and valuable equipment, making robust protection from the elements a critical priority. Any water ingress could result in catastrophic equipment failure and data loss. Watertite Waterproofing was engaged to deliver a cutting-edge liquid-applied membrane system to ensure complete and long-lasting protection for a data centre roof remediation project.

The challenge of achieving a consistent mil thickness and a uniform finish across a large, open roof area required exceptional skill and meticulous attention to detail, qualities that Watertite Waterproofing brought to the project.

Solution

The scope of work involved the application of a multi-layered liquid waterproofing system designed to restore and protect the roof substrate. The specified system was selected for its rapid-curing properties, robust performance, and ability to provide long-term durability.

The process included:

  • Priming: Application of Vulkem 191, a high-performance primer designed to consolidate the substrate and ensure superior adhesion for the subsequent membrane layers.
  • Base Coat: Installation of AlphaGuard BIO Base Coat, forming the core of the waterproofing system with its durable and flexible properties.
  • Top Coat: Application of AlphaGuard BIO Top Coat, expertly tinted to the specified N45 Koala Grey colour. This final layer provided UV stability, chemical resistance, and a durable, visually appealing finish.
The roof remediation project for the data centre was completed successfully, on time, and to the highest standard. The combination of the specified system and expert application delivered several key outcomes, ensuring the roof is well-equipped to protect the critical infrastructure below.
